2017 - Please take care

Postby Steve » Thu Jan 05, 2017 2:55 pm

So...the New Year did not last long for a poor 23 year old motorcyclist, killed in accident not far from our place.

http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/perth-motorcyclist-fights-for-life-after-heathridge-crash/news-story/f5b3b0e8f459989f5537d425cc0d4076

He was patiently waiting for a green light, when collected by the Landcruiser, sandwiched you might say. :(

Have an escape plan...at ALL times. And FWIW...I never sit at the lights, in neutral. If you ever see me do that, you have my full permission to give me a clip under the ear (with my helmet off)

Yep in gear always. I personally dont take me eyes of side mirrors at lights until a car has pulled up behind me.

Even if you're not going to filter never sit in the middle of the lane.

Very sad. Im with Steve. I'm always thinking about a Plan B. We seem to have lots of people who run red lights up our way ! Pays to wait just that bit extra before surging off. And I'm a +1 also for not sitting in neutral at the lights and for constantly checking mirrors. No such thing as TOO aware ... Rgds, Pete.

Unfortunately this is happening all too often.

Interesting break down on the road toll of motorcyclists, large number of unlicensed riders make up the numbers.
